Sanma: a new chapter written about deep roots

LEARN ABOUT OUR HISTORY
Before becoming Sanma, Hotel San Martin was already a classic in Foz do Iguaçu. Located just a few steps from the National Park, it has marked generations of travelers with its hospitality, being for a long time the starting point for those dreaming of seeing the Falls. In 2021, a new chapter began: a reinterpretation that preserves its roots and inaugurates a new era of sophistication, environmental awareness, and design excellence.
The transformation began with the dream of Santo Salvatti (in memoriam), the visionary founder who wished to renew Hotel San Martin without erasing its history. In September 2020, negotiations for the new partnership began. The following year, alongside Grupo Sarabia, a reference in the agribusiness sector, Sanma was reborn, occupying the same privileged ground: next to the Iguaçu National Park.
The restructuring was guided by respect: noble woods and pieces of the original furniture were restored, structures preserved, and new elements incorporated with care. Every lining, every slate floor and ipe coating carries a purpose, to keep the essence of the place alive, now rethought with contemporary design and concern for sustainability. Whenever possible, national materials and local labor were prioritized, reinforcing the project’s commitment to the community and the environment.
More than a physical space, Sanma is a living memory. Its collection honors Santo Salvatti, whose dedication made the hotel a true meeting point between cultures. Today, Sanma welcomes travelers from all over the world with the same welcoming spirit, but with an eye on the future of hospitality in Foz do Iguaçu.

WHERE MEMORY BECOMES ART
Learn about our history and our artists
The Sanma Collection is a tribute to Santo Salvatti, the visionary founder of the hotel, who over the decades gathered works of art from various Brazilian and foreign artists.
With more than 340 pieces, including paintings, tapestries, woodcuts, and lithographs, the collection stands out as one of the largest in Foz do Iguaçu.
Among the represented artists are Aldemir Martins, María Cecília Wagner, and Kennedy Bahia, whose works portray the rich cultural diversity of the Triple Frontier region.
Visits to the collection are guided by Maria Eduarda Pontes, who holds a degree in Visual Arts from the University of Brasília (UnB), providing an educational and enriching experience for visitors.
The SANMA Collection is the result of a sensitive curation that reflects the hotel’s commitment to cultural appreciation and the preservation of memory. More than just bringing together artworks, the collection is guided by principles that give meaning and purpose to its existence:
• Appreciation of Brazilian art and culture – especially from the Northeast and Paraná, and the Triple Frontier region;
• Preservation of the legacy of the Salvatti family and the artists represented there;
• Consolidation of the SANMA Collection as a reference in art collection and cultural dissemination in western Paraná.
The Sanma Collection is available for permanent exhibition for the hotel’s guests to visit.
